The popular SUV MG Hector is gearing up for a fresh appearance with leaked images hinting at an upcoming facelift. According to recent leaks, the 2026 MG Hector — including its 7-seater variant MG Hector Plus — will receive a redesigned front fascia, a striking new grille layout, updated bumpers and refreshed alloy wheels, possibly as large as 19 inches.

On the rear, the facelift shows a modestly reworked bumper layout and the arrival of a new dark-blue paint shade among the exterior updates.

Interiors and Tech Upgrades

Inside, the cabin layout of the 2026 MG Hector remains largely the same, but key upgrades are expected under the skin. The large portrait-style 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system is likely to get upgraded hardware along with a cleaner centre console layout and new interior theme.

According to a spokesperson, the updated Hector may come with up to 10 GB RAM for the infotainment system — promising smoother, faster performance and a more responsive user experience.

Beyond the screen, reports suggest possible enhancements like more intuitive connected-car features, improved comfort, and maybe even ventilated seats for better cabin comfort.

What Remains the Same Under the Hood

Mechanically, the MG Hector facelift isn’t expected to bring changes. The SUV should continue to offer the same trusted engine lineup: a 1.5-litre turbo petrol (with six-speed manual or CVT transmission) and a 2.0-litre diesel engine (with six-speed manual gearbox).

This means that while the aesthetics and tech are getting an upgrade, performance and reliability remain built on the existing proven foundation.

Launch, Competition and What It Means for Buyers

The company behind MG has confirmed that the refreshed Hector will be officially unveiled on 15 December 2025.

With its combination of new styling, updated cabin features, and the existing robust powertrain, the 2026 MG Hector facelift will directly compete with rivals such as Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700 in the mid-size SUV segment of India.
