New-Gen Kia Seltos to Launch on 2 January 2026

The new-generation Kia Seltos is set to make its official debut in India on 2 January 2026, with bookings opening at midnight tonight for a token amount of ₹25,000. The company plans to announce the ex-showroom prices on the launch day. Deliveries are expected to begin by mid-January 2026.

What’s new: design, size and features

Based on Kia’s updated global K3 platform, the new Kia Seltos has grown larger — measuring around 4,460 mm in length with an extended wheelbase of 2,690 mm, offering more space than its predecessor. The SUV sports a fresh exterior design featuring the signature “Digital Tiger Face” grille, vertically stacked LED DRLs, Ice-Cube LED headlamps, flush-fitting door handles, and new 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin sees a major upgrade: dual 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment and instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a powered driver seat with memory, reclining rear seats, and a host of modern comforts.

Powertrains and trim lineup

The new Kia Seltos will be offered in five variants — HTE, HTK, HTX, GTX and X-Line. Under the hood, engine options remain similar to the outgoing model: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel — each available with either manual or automatic gearbox choices.

In terms of technology and safety, the new Seltos brings Level-2+ ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a 360-degree camera, a premium Bose sound system, and a head-up display among other additions.

Market positioning and competition

With its updated design, more spacious cabin, and enhanced features, the new Kia Seltos is poised to strengthen its position in the competitive compact-SUV segment in India. It will compete directly with rivals like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, and the recently launched Tata Sierra.

As the countdown begins for the official launch, prospective buyers and SUV enthusiasts are eagerly watching — and the new Kia Seltos may well set a fresh benchmark in its segment.
